FAQ

What should I wear?

I am happy to answer this in more detail with you once you book your session. I recommend coming up with a color palette of colors that are mostly found in nature that compliment each other. Finding muted tones of the colors you love tend to go well on any wall no matter what the color scheme of your house may be. I have a Pinterest link to different color schemes that are included in my welcome email that you are welcome to check out.

What if my kids don’t act right?

This is likely the biggest fear you have as a parent who’s paying top dollar to get family photos taken. While I can’t guarantee smiles or cooperation from anyone, I do have years of experience working with children and different tactics that I use to elicit genuine emotion. My best advice to parents is stay calm and understand that to your child I am a stranger, so it makes sense if they are a little timid or shy to open up. No child will ever be in trouble during the session for not doing something I suggest, and I like to follow their cues to either back away and give space, or engage.

What is the best time to shoot?

I like to shoot at golden hour to stay consistent with the style that is shown in my portfolio for outdoor shoots. I will keep an eye on weather and we can adjust as needed, but this is why the times are set the way that they are on my schedule. Other times are options, but location will be strategically chosen to make sure that lighting will be optimal for your session.
